Nigeria Releases Emergency Hotlines for Citizens in Middle East Amid Rising Tensions

Abike Dabiri-Erewa announces emergency support and hotline assistance for Nigerians living in the Middle East amid rising regional tensions.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced emergency hotlines for Nigerians living in the Middle East as tensions across the region continue to escalate. Authorities say the move is aimed at protecting Nigerian citizens abroad and ensuring access to immediate consular support during the ongoing crisis.

Officials confirmed that the hotlines will provide emergency assistance, security updates, and communication channels for Nigerians who may need urgent help or guidance.

Government Activates Diaspora Safety Measures

The initiative comes as geopolitical tensions and military confrontations in the Middle East raise concerns about regional stability. Governments worldwide are monitoring the situation closely and advising citizens abroad to remain cautious.

Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) say they are working together to ensure Nigerians in affected areas have access to support if conditions worsen.

Emergency Hotline Numbers for Nigerians Abroad

Nigerian authorities have urged citizens living or working in the region to save the following emergency contacts:

  • Nigeria Embassy – Abu Dhabi: +971 56 884 4130
  • Nigeria Consulate – Dubai: +971 56 377 8678
  • Nigeria Embassy – Tel Aviv: +972 547115279 / +234 7064263944

The government emphasized that the numbers should be used only in urgent situations involving security threats, evacuation needs, or consular emergencies.

Nigerians Urged to Stay Alert

Officials have advised Nigerians in the Middle East to stay informed about developments, follow security advisories from local authorities, and remain in close contact with Nigerian diplomatic missions.

The government also encouraged citizens to ensure that their travel documents, identification, and emergency contacts are easily accessible in case evacuation measures become necessary.

Protecting Nigerians Worldwide

Nigeria maintains diplomatic missions across the Middle East to support thousands of Nigerians working in industries such as healthcare, engineering, technology, and education.

Authorities say they are continuously monitoring the situation and will provide further updates if the security situation changes.
