As Nigeria officially enters another election cycle, leading presidential candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Peter Obi, have signed a peace accord ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The agreement, signed in Abuja under the supervision of the National Peace Committee and in partnership with The Kukah Centre, came just hours before the official commencement of public campaigns and political rallies across the country.
The ceremony brought together presidential candidates, political party leaders, National Assembly candidates, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and members of the diplomatic community.
